The Faulous Dr.Tweedy

(4 stars)

Year 1946-1947 Frank Morgan played The Fabulous Dr. Tweedy, stars Frank Morgan as Thaddeus Q. Tweedy. Frank Morgan played multiple roles in the Wizard of Oz as Professor Marvel the carnival worker, the gatekeeper of the Emerald City, the driver of the carriage drawn by "The Horse of a Different Color", the armed guard leading to the wizard's hall, and the Wizard himself. The shows are filled with a unique assortment of characters including the assistant Timothy Welby, a former homeless person and prizefighter. The delightful and talented Harry von Zell comically portrays Welby. Dr. Tweedy is the dean of an all men’s college called Potts College and loving father of adopted son, Sidney. The show is light heartedly funny and is strikingly similar in tone to the beloved show, Our Miss Brooks.

Correction of information

Some corrections on the three The Fabulous Dr. Tweedy-Frank Morgan programs you have: 1. The two files you call the 46-01-12 show and the 1947-07-21 show are the same recording. 2. Neither file is from those two dates, it's Program #32 from 1947-01-08 - "The Athletic Trophies" 3. The third show, "The Fabulous Mr. Manchester" is a totally different program starring Sydney Greenstreet.
