The 15 minute episodes

(5 stars)

Beginning in September 1953, Jim & Marian Jordan (Fibber & Molly) began transcribing a nightly quarter-hour version of their venerable NBC radio show- minus a live audience, "The King's Men" and Billy Mills' orchestra [although Mills recorded enough music cues to last throughout the series], which aired at 10pm(et), Monday through Friday {a daily edition, at 11:45am(et), was added in 1954}. In March 1956, the series ended, due to a lack of advertisers- and audience- in prime-time. These quarter-hours featured a continuing story thread for several days or weeks, depending on the plot. And the McGees were just as good in this format as they were on their weekly shows.
