Great show, after the first year

(5 stars)

LGDI is a wonderful program. This first season (1948) was a tad rough. They changed actors after this year, and the later ones were superior. It's unusual among detective and troubleshooter shows, in that the Girl Friday was not just a secretary but a constant companion, always part of the action. Each episode was a unique situation with fully-formed extra characters who weren't just foils for the leading man. Clearly done on a low budget, without much music or sound effects, but the writing and acting compensated.

Good Audio, Pretty Consistent Audio Levels.

All the shows are very good, from the beginning when George had an office staff to when it evolved to more serious sleuthing. The shows are better than Bob Bailey in Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar.
