Moon Over Africa (2 of 3)

(4.6 stars; 4 reviews)

Moon over Africa was a syndicated 15-minute serial following the adventures of Professor Anton Edwards on his search for Atlantis in the depths of Africa. Along on his search, his daughter, fiance, and a preserved human head make an usual adventure which was broadcast during 1935-1938. Possibly from South Africa, it's unknown if the series was broadcast in the US. Talbot Mundy wrote the series script (and is known for other serials such as Jack Armstrong, Lost Empire, and Ghost Corps.). Text from the website Old Time Radio

I know there is very little information about this programme, but, in attempt to learn more about it, I would be curious to see who else hears what I am hearing. Do these episodes not sound very much like the same actors and production company as the Tarzan serials, such as The Diamond of Asher and The Fires of Tohr? Professor Anton Edwards to me sounds so definitely to be Cy Kendall, i.e. the fellow who played Atan Thome, and the sound effects sound exactly like the ones used in the Tarzan serials. Even the narrator sounds like the same voice. Is there any other information that would link them? Am I the only one hearing this? I would love to know more about this programme. cf. This is not a great series but yet I still keep listening and wanting to see how they keep escaping all the calamities they find them selves in!
