Driven by a federal election and the life of the resulting minority conservative government, the novel moves between the small town of Cumberland, Ontario on the shores of the Ottawa River, and the nation's capital. I cannot believe it took me this long to read this book! I think it was the politics that threw me off from reading it. You see, I was not a fan of politics. that is, until now! I actually got emotional at the End of This Book and that, if anyone knows me, does not ever happen! well done Terry!

It's Oct. 15, 2010 & here in the USA we are in the midst of a bizarre Liberal political mess! Listening to Best Laid Plans has let me laugh at politicians again! It is a very pleasant diversion from the nonsense that is really happening in politics here!
