Typical Dostoyevsky

(4 stars)

Yes, this is pretty typical Dostoyevsky - "intense and complex" as the summary says. I find him a bit confusing, and getting into the protagonist's head doesn't clear things up very well. It was a good listen, though, and ***spoiler alert*** I was happy with the ending. So many stories like this don't end as positively as this did. Thank you, Lee!

l loved it

excellent reader. Dostoyevsky has the ability to analyse human behaviours in a way that pulls the reader in closer and closer to the characters..a technique which is laborious and disconnecting in the hands of many other less skilled writers...How does he do it?

Good Reader

Another good synopsis of Dostoevsky's writing for anyone wanting to dive into something shorter. Good reader! Very well done. But I might suggest you speed up the pace of this one by selecting a faster reading pace.

one of my favorite readers

volume and sound was very good. my phone does not normally pick up his recordings. the plot is interesting but the execution lags at the end for me. vengeance is a powerful motive.

Great book really good reading

Great book. If you want a quintessential Dostoevsky novel that is shorter than than his others I'm not sure this can be beat

A multilayered relationship
