1 maiden aunt, 2 brothers, 3 missionaries, 4 orphans, 5 rejected suitors, 6 dead mothers, 7 dead fathers, 12 teenage boys, 17 dollars, 4 dozen tea cakes, Divine Providence, a brindle cow, no partridges, pear trees optional but potential, [all statistics approximated] No temperance lectures, sermons, or coincidences. Just a fun story!
