So Valerie remains as tantalizingly elusive as ever. Morse prefers a body—a body dead from unnatural causes. And very soon he gets one…

An excellent Morse

(4 stars)

John Thaw was great on television where the atmosphere was bucolic. But this Morse for radio is edgier and more realistic. Where Thaw was bluff and rude, John Shrapnel is sharper - but still very abrasive. Robert Glenister as Sergeant Lewis is an excellent foil to Morse.

Brilliant

Great listening and this Morse is far better than John Thaw from TV whose character was always dark and surly. So I gave up watching the TV Morse. Relax put your feet up and enjoy this one.
