Henry Fonda on Cavalcade of America

Henry Fonda on Cavalcade of America OTR Weekend - Thanksgiving 2021 November 10, 1941. "Drums Along The Mohawk" October 08, 1945. "Spy On The Kilocycles". December 10, 1945. "Big Boy Blue".  March 31, 1947. "Kansas Marshal" October 06, 1947. "Of Such Is The Kingdom". November 29, 1949. "Spindletop". Hard to think of a Golden Age actor more American than Hank Fonda; Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Gary Cooper, Humphrey Bogart, Gregory Peck, and Fonda's buddy, James Stewart, are all worthy, but Henry had that special something that made him stand out, from The Grapes of Wrath to Fail-Safe .  Here are six examples of his range as a radio actor, each a biography of one real or amalgamated American hero, as presented by the Dupont Corporation between 1941 and 1949.  Ads have been diminished to focus on the dramas, and Spindletop 's sound quality has been improved best I can do.  For more Hank found in Internet Archive's old-time radio section, look for a list in the next issue of Mixed Media, December 2021.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
