The Land That Time Forgot is a science fiction novel, the first of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Caspak trilogy. His working title for the story was "The Lost U-Boat." A Compelling Story and a Convincing Reader

I love the intrigue between an early submarine and the contrast of the terrifying and primitive life of the earliest creatures on Earth. The romance during this narrative gives the reader a sort of addiction to the story, which is indeed believable.

Fantastic story!! Very well done !

I loved everything about these books.

The entire Caspak Series is by far the best trilogy of books I have had the honor of reading. Mr. Burroughs did an excellent job with them. My only regret is that his brilliant mind will never produce any more of these wonderful works that I can only compare to parchment that fell from the heavens. I have read it 3 times and that number will increase as time passes. If you have not read them you are doing yourself an unforgivable injustice. And Ralph Snelson is hands down my favorite reader. I don't think I would like the book read by anyone else but Mr. Snelson.

Enjoyable, but the plot is somewhat convenient

Secret dinosaur world is all I knew and came for and all I wanted, so I was disappointed at how late in the book they get to it. I didn't know it was a trilogy then. It is more understandable now. Little relevant conflict comes from the environment. For the most part this is a convenient hero's tale fighting evildoers and savages in a outdated prehistoric themed wildernes. There is some original lore surrounding the hominids that I like and I'll continue reading for it. It is nicely read.

I have inherited my dad's collection of E.R.B. novels. Having read some of them in my youth, I somehow missed this series. I quite enjoyed both the narration and the story. Not sure what I can say that would not be considered a spoiler. Suffice it to say, I was impressed and somewhat surprised by the characters and setting. It helps the "science fiction" feel vastly more plausible.

Great book

I hadn't been familiar with this author, they are reminiscent of Verne in my opinion. it was a great book, and I will definitely move on to the second in this series to hear more. The reader reminded me of Jimmy Stewarts voice, which I felt was a soft, but rugged voice, very befitting an adventure novel.

Amazing tale

The story is so unusual because the title implies a story about prehistoric times. However it turns out to be a war story.with a very unusual twist. Ralph Snelson was an excellent narrator and I thank him so much for his endeavours to bring this book alive.

Another Rices excellent stories. It's hard for me to put down the book once I start. I found this one was exceptionally good for all the twists and turns in it.
