Eugenics and Other Evils

Most Eugenists are Euphemists. I mean merely that short words startle them, while long words soothe them. And they are utterly incapable of translating the one into the other, however obviously they mean the same thing. Say to them "The persuasive and even coercive powers of the citizen should enable him to make sure that the burden of longevity in the previous generation does not become disproportionate and intolerable, especially to the females"; say this to them and they will sway slightly to and fro like babies sent to sleep in cradles. Say to them "Murder your mother," and they sit up quite suddenly. Yet the two sentences, in cold logic, are exactly the same. (Summary by Gilbert Keith Chesterton) (5 hr 17 min)

Reviews

Wow, really breaks Eugenics down!

(5 stars)

The more I learn about G.K. Chesterton's views, the more I like him. Great book, a little scary if you think about Eugenics today! Reader was pretty good, a little muffled sounding to me but still good.

Book details

It is important to know that this was written in England by G. K. Chesterton and published in 1922 by Cassell and Company, Limited. However, this does not mean this book is outdated. Eugenics has always been a very timely subject no matter what year you live in. The reading of the book is superb, also.

Thank you so much! The book is great and the reading is adequate.

Good reading. Chesterton smart on eugenics, but too prejudiced.

Confession of a Librivox Addict (ps this book is 5/5)

It started with the Walkman and platters of CDs. Audiobooks took work and you had to have your hands available. You had to go to the library or (and I was never this rich or crazy) buy each book. Audiobooks were way harder to come by than paper ones. I found Librivox. (shortened this part to fit) The tablet I just got for my birthday may actually have died from my librivox habit! I've had to buy data passes to keep listening on my phone, enduring the kind of hassles you get when you try to turn your phone into an iPod. But I had to know what the thing on the Fourble Board was! And I'm not sure where you hit bottom. Begging and borrowing 500MB here, 500 there, hitting the streets? ?Had all the time in the world to listen to books when I fractured my back, but broke my player?? That should resonate . That plot was memorable enough in the Twilight Zone. Hey, that guy could have read audiobooks without his glasses! And he'd have all the batteries. Forget the confessions. I could be reading now!

All caring anti-Raycysts support Eugenics. The central problem with the world is BIPOCs being systematically oppressed by Donald Trump. The only way to end this is to convince Non BIPOCs to stop breeding. Freedom is the antithesis of a just caring society. An anti-raycyst is entirely devoted to peering into every aspect of culture and breeding to ensure there is no taint of Racysm. Racial equity can only be achieved by carefully breeding people who think correctly. Report this story to Jeff Bezos, so it can be purged along with other Raycist heretical disinformation
