The ghosts are pretty bad...

(4 stars)

Overall, this is a great reading. But the ghosts of Christmas past and present... Oh! Why? Why would you read in such stilted, robotic voices? Both were distracting and pretty terrible. Luckily, they didn't have many lines. I do very much appreciate all the volunteers who took their time to read this for Librivox, however. (Yes, even the ghosts.)

I like this a lot but........

I like listening to this a lot. Yes there are some differences in quality of the recordings, but that is a minor detail. The narrator has a wonderful voice, and most are very pleasurable to listen to. However, Scrooge doesn't sound bitter or nasty enough, he sounds like someone's grandfather. I also agree with the two ghosts voices (plus one of the charity collectors) sounding robotic, which spoils it a little for me. Still much better than many versions though and I would recommend this to anyone!

Beautiful and Well Acted. Definitely will Listen to!

I've listened to one audiobook by LibriVox with only one person to do all the characters and the narrator, so listening to different actors is like watching a movie. A Christmas Carol is one of my favorite books to read and favorite movie to watch during the holidays and the narrator and actors did an excellent job. Definitely worth listening to and following along with the book. I've just finished reading Little Women and following along with the book can definitely allow you to immerse yourself into the story. And I'll be using this whenever I feel in the Christmas feeling.

I’ve always, on a subconscious level, knew that this long existing, short’ish, novel was one of earths greatest works. It truly is the epitome of time-tested. God bless CD, w/out mentioning his other amazingly profound, also time-tested, works of morality & divinity…extraordinary. And what a great job the Librivox volunteers have done. Thank you to them & Librivox. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Wonderful! Worth a listen

(5 stars)

A classic story, a wonderful, tight fisted, miserly and laced with humour. Bravo to the cast, an excellent job! Scrooge with the sarcasm, dryness and humour an excellent portrayal. I have listened to this three times now, and it's is still as bright as the first time. A must listen

Enjoyed it!

(4.5 stars)

While there are definitely some readers that are not as clear or enjoyable to listen to in this dramatic reading, narrator Elizabeth Klett and Andy Minter (Scrooge) make up for it with their skilled reading and soothing voices. Thank you to the LibriVox volunteers for donating their time for our enjoyment.

"A Wonderful Listen"

(5 stars)

Excellent dramatic reading of this book! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the many characters, it made this classic much more meaningful. I've listen to a singular reader of this book in the past but the dramatic reading kept me much more captivated. Thank you many volunteers for an excellent listen!!!

Merry Christmas to all
