Another camper tale, this time set in the Canadian wilderness. A hunting party separates to track moose, and one member is abducted by the Wendigo of legend. Robert Aickman regarded this as "one of the (possibly) six great masterpieces in the field". (Introduction by Wikipedia) (1 hr 59 min)

The material world tricks people to commit evil acts in order to acquire resources. Wendigo isn't a Hollywood spook that hangs out in the forest. Its something much more horrific and its territory is any landscape where people live and its evil is carried out through you and I.

The reader was superb, and the book is the first I've experienced from this author. I will look for more books by this author, and more importantly, read by this reader!
