Reviews
A Great Mystery!

Lori K
I don't give 5 stars lightly. This book deserves it. I listened twice as it had been a long time since the 1st time & I forgot who did it & why. Both times I thought I knew but was wrong! Caroline has a slight accent but reads well, at an appropriate pace, & clearly. These should be requirements for readers. If you have trouble understanding her, although I don't think that would be the case here, then use one or both earbuds instead of listening though a regular speaker. That gender bending review is just ridiculous, BTW.

This must be AK G'S crowning glory! I haven't read them all yet but I believe this to be best. Carolina reads it perfectly. Her voice helps the suspense and sympathy that the story requires. Thank you librivox
Volunteer readers be blessed

Angels Walk
The blending of circumstances, highly stressful situations, &, personal relationships, all combine in A.K. Green murder mysteries so beautifully! Human nature, psychological thrills, Detectives, Lawyers, even the sense one would get from a local Courtroom, give this novel 5 Stars, & were it available, would rate a 6+!!
TWISTED ROUTE AS ALWAYS

Avid Listener
AKG never fails to entertain. This is as good as any of her works. The reader had a fasciinating voice.
A hard to follow murder story but enjoyable. I really like the reader Carolin.

Pretty good story and reading

Although the mystery and characters are complex in this AKG story, the details of the crime were highly unlikely. I figured it out fairly easily ahead of time, which usually doesn't happen with AKG stories. Carolin's reading was for the most part its usual good quality except for a much higher number of mispronounced words than usual. I had to look at the online text to figure out what a couple of the intended words were, but this little flaw did not hamper my enjoyment of the story; it was only a minor inconvenience. As usual, AKG's writing, plot, and characterization are so good that I'd recommend listening to this story even with the abovementioned caveats. Sweetwater makes another appearance too, for his first solo on-location assignment without Detective Gryce!

Carolin’s reading makes every text deep and atmospheric and clearly she knows that things are supposed to be decent in the world. Don’t ask me how she conveys this! I started listening to this today at ch. 15 while I was out walking and very nervous and I listened just to be steadied, not knowing what preceded that chapter. That was 3 pm and it’s just wound up now, at 1:43 am. A huge undertaking for a reader with no faltering anywhere. I love AKGreen— why was she forgotten? So, very grateful to two great women.
Just okay

Ancient Aunt
I've truly enjoyed other books by this author but this one was just okay. Too many cryptic characters -- either in comas or acting extremely odd. And I never did have a good sense of the main character either. The Librivox volunteer reader did a good job, though.
