This is a memorable book with a charming narrator. A book made up of various episodes in a young lady’s life as she tries to honor God’s word and live out her faith. Like many of Pansy’s books, it can feel a bit preachy, especially to modern ears. If you don’t understand God’s grace, and working through God’s strength and by His guidance, this story could seem like a work-based religion tale, but I don’t think that is what the author intended. It is an endearing tale of a young woman trying, and sometimes failing, to apply her Sunday School lessons to her every day life.

Though it seems too good to be true, I believe John's enlightening words to be glorious, life-changing truth! When we take it to Him, and let Him, the Holy Spirit does what we in our own best efforts fail to accomplish, tho we believe it to be Gods will. Pansy illustrates the beauty of doing the work God gives us, and doing it in His strength and ability.

True Holiness

I was enlightened by some discussion of Pentacostalism. Perfect holiness in this life only as it is worked in Christ by the Holy Spirit. Works of the Spirit as Paul calls them.

couldn't tell

The story flew by so fast it was hard to follow but as for diction, pronunciation , oh to have a story with correctly said words!

I loved the story of Rebecca’s trials and successes. I would have liked to see how Rebecca responded to being wooed by Frank and the wedding.

Definitely one of Pansy’s best books. The narrator is good, although she reads a bit fast.
