you have to let this one wash over you like a dream and envision it through a dream-like mind. unfortunately. probably not for everyone. some unusual vocal sound effects in places but they are somewhat appropriate for the book and it's subject matter and they add to the feel of it all. i love Jason mills! one of the best readers on librivox, AND Lord DUNSANY!!!??? WELL.... he is the absolute master of higher speculative, pseudo mythological, free-fantasy-dream-fiction! Jason Mills sir,,,please please give us more!!! thank u librivox for having so many of Dunsany's books in audio format. what's a gift to the world. A great presentation of the book loved the effects used for MĀNA-YOOD-SUSHĀĪ. The book itself was interesting you can really see how much Lovecraft borrowed from it.

fans of Lord Dunsany warned me that his first published work isn't his best, but I am a stubborn woman. I enjoyed it enough though and now I am more curious about the world created by the talented Irishman. so off to the next book.

A difficult style of writing but think the reader did his best and loved to hear British English. But that is purely selfish of me!
