Interesting

A peep into the lives of a German family in the early 1900s, prior to WW1. Not only did it give a glimpse into the lives of an ordinary German family, it also recounted local legends and some of the history of Germany. It also gave some insight into the mindset of German nationalism at that time, and an inkling of the war to come. The book ended very abruptly as though the author had stoped writing midway through the book. Although it was written for children, I’m not sure how interesting modern children would find it. But the writing is very accessible, so kids into history might enjoy it. The narration was pretty good too.
