Aunt Lucretia — 'Crete' to her family — is a sweet, patient older woman, who lives with her narrow-minded sister and spoilt niece, acting as their unpaid and unappreciated domestic servant. When they leave town in order to avoid the unexpected visit of a "backwoods" cousin, she is left at home to welcome him. She's willing to love him whatever he's like, and he's looking for a home having lost his mother years before, so the two are ready to become fast friends. But what does that mean for Aunt Crete's prejudiced relatives and how can their wrongs against her be remedied? - Summary by Cori (2 hr 41 min)

Very well done

Good, but very predictable story, even with all that, very well worth the listening time. This is one of those books which are the old flannel quilts one keeps just to burrow into on icy winter evenings with the special hot chocolate, whipped cream, and buttery sugar cookies on the side !

Loved this book. Although it was short it was very refreshing! The reader was very pleasant to listen to, I didn't want the reading to end!

the perfect Cinderella Story...

1/1/20 this time, Cinderella is played by the maiden Aunt, and Prince Charming is the long lost, handsome, brilliant, AND RICH, nephew. JUST LOVELY!! This is in my downloaded collection for long flights, naps and rainy days. I have listened to it more times than I can count. 1/1/20

Ahh, if only...

Lovely narrative by Cori Samuel. A sort of Cinderella tale of an American spinster rescued from her wicked sister and niece by her 'fairy' nephew.

Best Book so far of 2018
