I really enjoyed listening to the reader. Loved her accent. Seemed appropriate for this story. The story, although at times seeming to be very simple in writing style, was very suspenseful and enjoyable. I can see how greats such as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were inspired by George MacDonald's stories.

I love the creative genius of the author! The story’s simplicity makes it great because the words are so artfully cherry-picked that I can vividly imagine Princess Irene’s world. As an ( amateur) writer myself, I find the clear, engaging plot structure helpful when it comes to structuring my own stories. This story is truly magical and unique. I applaud George MacDonald’s wonderful work and see him as equal to the great English literary masters- Dickens, Shakespeare, Austen, Wilde and Steinbeck. I recommend this book to CREATIVE PEOPLE, WRITERS, FANTASY-LOVERS, AND ANYONE WHO APPRECIATES TRADITIONAL STORIES.
