Truly Remarkable!

(5 Sterne)

I read most of the earlier reviews of this volume and I totally disagree. Tony’s reading is a bit over the top, but he manages to convey the evil of Lovelace. All Tony’s readings should be listened to at a higher speed than normal, otherwise they will sound way too slow and exaggerated. Every character’s letter was read by a different person. All were at least okay. The genius of the author is beginning to be revealed. I can’t wait to finish the book!

awful readers

(0,5 Sterne)

I've listened to librivox titles for over a decade. it's readers like the guy who starts this volume, Tony Addison, who make it a laughing stock. truly awful. was he actually drunk at times? I would happily replace the audio. it's not improved by Kristin G constantly mispronouncing words and Kathleen Moore sounding like her voice has been synthesized by a robot. Michele Eaton apparently proofed this. if so it seems that librivox is hot on quantity but not bothered about quality. Sad.

He’s drunk

(1 Sterne)

I concur with other reviewers. The reader IS obviously drunk at times. What a shame! Probs a libertine. Unfortunately, at times like this (and some other occasions of bad readership), cause me to turn to Audible:-(, which doesn’t have many of the great texts that I can find on Librivox. How can project managers and listening editors be ok with horrible/intoxicated readers? Other than this concern, I love Librivox and everything about it, and I am grateful for such an awesome service.

With all due respect, the reader was so melodramatic and over the top that he could have been reading Edgar Allen Poe. It's embarrassing and an absolute bummer for me as this is book six. The reading is bizarre. I have downloaded the book instead but it is so time consuming that I give the recording another go...two sentences and I have to quit. Honest to god...He sounds like a vampire

Terrible reader

This volume is let down by someone thinking they are a Shakespearean actor when in reality it is more telly tubbies or something out of in the Night Garden. But don’t worry he doesn’t return again in the rest of the volumes.

Loving this volume!

(4 Sterne)

I love the way Tony puts his all in! I had a hard time not laughing in public as I listened to his inflections, which I found to be exactly how I would expect Lovelace to be.
