How to Succeed in Evil: The Novel

Alternately funny and dark, a HtSiE is the story of Edwin Windsor, Evil Efficiency Consultant. A biting satire of both modern business and the conventions of the superhero genre.

Stumbled onto this book looking for something light to listen to on an overseas flight. I honestly didn't expect much, and was very pleasantly surprised. If you're a fan of Carl Hiaasen or Christopher Moore this is going to be right up your alley. Well plotted, well read, extremely entertaining ...

You just know that this author goes to comicon. The short bursts of the chapters, the deep brooding of the protagonist, and the revenge laced ending with sequel possibility oozing all over the place. Very well written and narrated. It makes me think Seth Mcfarlan--I know i really shouldn't be laughing at this... bawdy and ballsy. Uncomfortable laughter is the best. ;-)

The authors sense of humor is exactly, precisely what I find naturally attractive. I laugh out loud every chapter to the dry literate & intelligent descriptions of scenes & characters. I think he writes aspects of himself that he can't really embrace fully in real life into his character narration & it's fascinating. I love his books & highly recommend anything with his name on it.

Very entertaining

Really enjoyed this story but my goodness the chapters are so short with music and adverts between almost every chapter so not great at for resting to. But despite the adverts and music I really enjoyed this book a lot and shall be looking for more by the same author

I was slightly hindered at the start of this book, by a few chapters not being a known file type to play on an mp3 player. (i think chapters 14 -22 but 18 worked). But i by then i was already hooked and just listened to those on my pc. ...

Great book! How to Succeed in Evil has kept me laughing all week. Thanks! One note about the Intro advertising our Overlord's latest book. 72 intros is a little too much when the episodes are so short. It sold me, but by episode 40 I'm screaming, "Enough, I'll buy it!" ...

I came across HSIE back when the author was just getting started. Now that all the chapters/episodes are finished, I was able to listen straight through, much to my delight. McLean has a great reading voice and excellent vocal characterizations. I loved how the story moved from a tale of ...

Patrick is a liar. He told me years ago he would make this awesome book available on Audible. I've waited years. No such luck. If he would just make it available, I would buy it and I would listen to it over and over racking up so many Audible achievements. ...
