Forget What You Can't Remember

Gelesen von Teel McClanahan III

(3,861 Sterne; 61 Bewertungen)

Featuring a zombie outbreak and a strange sort of doomsday, but really focusing on how coming through those experiences into utopia and freedom effects different people, Forget What You Can’t Remember is an exploration of the human mind under pressure. It’s about relationships, memory, opportunity, and dealing with their loss - and other kinds of loss. Forget What You Can't Remember is a spin-off novel in the same universe as Lost and Not Found (also available on Podiobooks.com) which doesn’t require you to have read that book to understand it.

Not what you expect

(4 Sterne)

This is not whatever you expect. It has a few zombies, but not a zombie book. It has Elves, though not that form of fantasy. It also has high-tec, a floating city and a Superman-ish super hero. It is not what you expect, so read it if you like surprises.

nice to have a chapter that is not just an ongoing conversation. Finally some action. That seems to have been very light of late. I enjoy the story more when the plot is advanced with some actions and not just conversation that doesn't seem to be going anywhere between numerous ...

Bubble and Squeak I didn't know that this was the second part of "Lost and Not Found" and thought LaNF just ended strange with a lot of loose ends. Teel is a very good writer. I mentioned to my wife how I listened to 5 min about a character eating ...

This book isn't meant to be a traditional zombie book, horror book, or other such thriller. It is slow, contemplative, and examines depersonalization disorder, memory loss, and post-traumatic stress through the lens of a zombie outbreak which is effectively resolved by chapter 8. (Well, and Chapter 23, though the zombies ...

I'm finding myself begrudgingly enjoying this story. It is (as far as i'm concerned) pretty original and interesting. I dont like the narration however, and the way some of the characters whine about everything can be hard to listen to. And the whistles in the background...wtf is up with the ...

I liked that this book started with the great apocalypse from the previous book. But one of the things that concerned me was the inclusion of troll, the Fae, and other such mythical things here on Earth. This was something that was not hinted at in "Lost and Not Found". ...

It was a little confusing, but otherwise a good story. It does allow for some personal contemplation. Some of the character's voices were irritating or hard to understand. But that's just my opinion, and I certainly appreciate the effort to differentiate between them.

Good story. The characters named Mary and Brady sound a lot like snagglepuss. I was waiting for a heavens to mergatroid or an exit stage left. A good original story well told non the less.
