Madcap

Quote:
"To the quiet Titine her mistress created an impression of bringing not only herself into the room, but also the violent horse and the whole of the out-of-doors besides." --Chapter 1 of Madcap. --In the same chapter, Hermia Challoner, this force of nature pitted against the nature of her social milieu, laughingly tells her maid, "Better die living--than be living dead."
--And thus starts the beginning of an early 20th century quest for something beyond the bored and politely veiled cynicism of class and wealth; beyond oneself. --Add to that a little mischief, a bit of Puckish misdirection. And a bit of romance. (Tony Oliva) (11 hr 49 min)

Thank You Tony for an Exceptional Reading

As a musician I and other musicians often refer to songs we like as having "soul." By which we mean that the rendering of the music was done so well that it really didn't matter what the merits of the song were. But let me hasten to say that the merits of this excellent story were read so well and with so much feeling that you aided the author in painting vivid word pictures of the characters and situations. I know from having performed professionally for many years how much it "takes out" of a person to put " soul" into their song. I am grateful to you and to God for such people as you who so unselfishly give of their time, energy, and self their wonderful gifts for the benefit of others. I hope you will read more as you are an excellent and "soulful" reader (and the story was very moving as well).
DEFINITELY MADCAP
AVID READER
Gibbs always gives you full value in his novels. I always wonder at the interest generated by his admittedly offbeat stories, but I never fail to just relax and enjoy the ride. TO reads flawlessly, both grammatically and dramatically.
