Takes me back to my youth

Normally one would want to comment on the book itself as the most important feature in any literary presentation but in this case, although the story is excellent and very reminiscent of both the Hardy Boys and Tom Swift series, what brings it all to life is the SPIRITED and absolutely delightful voicing by Scott Danneker. Scott is much more than simply a reader and I have listened to quite a few Libravox recordings and I have to say THIS is the first time I felt compelled to comment on how splendidly the voicing fit the story. Scott's voice is animated and he seems to be completely in tune with the story. Congratulations on a great reading. I will absolutely look for more by Scott. P.S. I'm still amazed that I am the first to comment on this FANTASTIC presentation. Thanks again Scott from Northern Canada

Goodbye Dave!

Apparently this is the last of the Dave Dashaway books. I’m not sure why, perhaps readers became too sceptical about Dave’s achievements, or perhaps the advent of WWI changed the publishing landscape. Anyhow, it’s been a fun, though rather unbelievable series. In this story, Hiram gets much more of a showing than Dave, and even gets his own sidekick. Dave’s illustrious success has raised him a little too high, and has made him less accessible as a character. And perhaps therein lies the answer to why the series ended. Many thanks to the narrator. I suspect he had a lot of fun narrating this series.

nice juvenile story

I have enjoyed the Dashaway storys. Reader could have been a little less enthusiastic for my taste but he did a good job keeping all the character voices straight.
