(4,286 Sterne; 7 Bewertungen)

The Mysteries of London was a best-selling novel in mid-Victorian England, published in four volumes. This is the third volume. Initially serialized in weekly installments, they were the forerunners of today's soap operas. Known as "Penny Dreadfuls", they had no claim to literary brilliance but offered readers entertainment and excitement in the form of vice, poverty, wealth, virtue, mystery, romance and scandal in every combination and reached a mass audience. - Summary by Lynne Thompson (46 hr 11 min)

Same fine quality serialised Penny Dreadful novel as prior volumes, but with a new character line-up. Same minor nuisance in listening, with some different reader and audio quality problems, breaking flow continuity. Plot and subplots still captivating and well-developed. Go for it, and also look for Vol IV!

Portrays evil and good. Interesting. Jumps from one scenario to another and back again so you need a good memory.
