Characters that have stood the Test of Time for so many Reasons..

A great reading of Doyle. Clear diction, no ambient sounds/distractions, great pacing, just a pleasurable listening experience all-round. The timbre of his voice reminds me so much of Rupert Everett (meant as an amazing compliment). The most believable English accent(s) I’ve heard yet (no offense meant if he is British). Major Kudos for this dramatization. I look forward to listening to the rest of the Canon of Conan Doyle from this Orator.

A fantastic book and reading

A fantastic continuation of Sherlock with shorter more varied stories. Still to this day a super engaging detective series. David Clark is really the only reader to use, it’s not always the first result but he’s done every book and his voices and change in accents are fantastic. His readings are more akin to a radio drama than just listening to a singular person read a book.

love the narration voices!

The narrator takes a different voice for women and other male characters other than Watson and Sherlock, which is great! I find his male voice really funny, makes it sound like jovial characters! His british accent is perfect for the story. The only thing is he speaks really fast, but since we can lower the speed (i do 50 %) it's not really a problem. i also enjoy it being the same narrator the whole time. Sound is also nice. About the stories themselves, well they are nice but not amazing. Listen at least once.

Worth "Reading" Again! And again!

So, I've listened many times-- including OTR (Old Time Radio) shows, Cumerbatch reading, etc. Yet, blasphemy I know My Dear Watson/Nigel Bruce & Holmes/Basil Rathbone, there's nothing quite like Conan Doyle's actual "word pictures" AND THIS excellent reader-- portraying a roomful of people-- to bring all to life into my living room & adult bedtime stories!

Best version of sherlock holmes

This is the second audiobook I've listened to with David Clarke as the narrator. The way he narrates stories adds an element to stories that is unparalleled by any other narrator. I thoroughly enjoy the way he pulls a reader into a story. Bringing classic novels to life in a way that very few can.

A "quite kind of fun"

Being obliged to stay home due to Convid 19 it has been good fun to listen to this beautiful reading. In a steady voice and without 'over acting' this audio book really helped me to pass time and made me enjoy stories I read aaages ago. Thanks for that!

Such a good version. The reader is excellent! He brings the characters to life and the pace of his reading is perfect. A delight to find after many disappointments. I'm so grateful to find a reader who seems to enjoy the story, too.

Brilliant, obviously!

This is the best version available! I teach English overseas and this volunteer reads beautifully, expressively, clearly, appropriate speed... can’t say enough for its use for language homework! I’ll look for other books he’s read! Thank you! :)
