This is my favourite novel of all time. I first read it 25 years ago and was deeply affected by it then...as now...given its strong resonance with my own life; so much hope dashed by a single act of madness on my part that impacted the person I loved and had prayed would be mine. This audio version is very well read. I know it will now take me a few days to marshall my senses...but as always...I am glad to have walked with Lord Jim and to have shared his journey for a while. May I retain the strength of character of my hero and abide in the knowledge that I have changed and walk a different path now...hoping one day to be able to lift my head and stand tall.

I was so delighted that this was narrated by Stewart Wills, he performed so masterfully on Moby Dick. Here again, he does not disappoint. A great book, thankfully performed by a great reader. Really good Pacing and intonation and clarity, and as previously, delivered with an underlying hint of dry humor.

Though the author communicates a very racist and colonial attitude throughout, I had to remind myself this was reflective of the attitudes of the time when this was written. I appreciated Conrad's skill in portraying human aspiration and frailty. The Libivox reader of this novel was excellent. ..thank you!

This is a book to read for the words.The story expertly constructed to keep you guessing is wasted on those who only want a story.The reading was professional and added much to the listening experience. Possibly in the future I will believe I saw a film!

I’m clearly in the minority but I hated this!! Narration was fine, I’m referring to the book. I really like Heart of Darkness so I’m not averse to Conrad, but I couldn’t finish this, listening felt like a chore

Excellent reading, just the pronunciation of quay a little jarring... (key, not kway), and 'short-lived' (short 'i' in lived like 'bit', not a long 'eye') :-) Good work... Thank you.

A must listen. Won’t say a lot about the plot, to avoid spoilers. Every one of us has a bit of Lord Jim in us. Splendid reading.
