Nina Kimberly the Merciless (Remastered)
Christiana Ellis
Read by Christiana Ellis
She's on a mission to kill the man who loves her. Why? Because he's an idiot. Ten years ago, Nina Kimberly the Merciless was cheated out of the life of adventure that she truly deserves. Her father, the fearsome barbarian conqueror Marcus the Merciless, met his first and only defeat at the hands of, well... a gopher hole. Ever since this epic humiliation, she and the rest of the horde have been stuck in the rural backwater kingdom of Langia. Now Francis IX, the idiotic king, has decided that he and Nina should be married. She can't kill him without starting a succession war, but the alternatives? Eww! Nina has long yearned for a hero to sweep her up on a glorious quest, but Francis' unwanted affections have forced her hand. No more waiting for a quest to find *her*, it's time to get proactive. She sets off into the big wide world, but the King decides to tag along, complete with a security spell to alert the Kingdom if he's killed. Nina is forced to swallow her pride and keep him safe... at least until she can find a way to break the spell. But nothing is ever simple in the life of a barbarian princess, and nothing is ever quite what it appears. The dragon is a pacifist (sometimes). The handsome rogue is a con-artist, but who is he conning? And even the wizard has a few surprises in store. While seeking the answer to all her problems, Miss the Merciless discovers that what she's always wanted may not actually be what she *wants*. *Nina Kimberly the Merciless* is a comic coming of age story filled with magic, mayhem and mercenaries, but mercy? Never.
This is a remastered version of the novel, with an all-new higher quality recording. The classic version of Nina Kimberly the Merciless is also available.

Above average book. Moved along at a good clip and some of the characters were fun to follow. Writer has a good sense of humor as well. On the down side, a few of the characters were not as consistent as I would like, esp. the main character who was variously quite insightful and astonishingly foolish/ignorant. It didn't help that the writer chose a more childlike and petulant voice for the main character as well. Still, overall a fun book and well worth a listen. I will certainly look into this writer 's other books as well .

Loved the book! I hope you do write or cast a sequel to the book sometime! I am sorry the donation I just made was kinda puny, but I'm a wee bit broke right now, but I wanted to give you something to show my appreciation of a good read! ...

I really enjoyed the story and the characters were well developed. Well, done. I also enjoyed how there isn't all kinds of adds or hoopla, just the story and that's what it's really about - the story. Thanks again!!!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were fun and engaging. Is there going to be a sequel? It would be fun to see what you do next with Nina, Kimberly, Tiernan, William and Francis.

nice story and reading. I love violent people..... though when Nina is mad she sounds kinda whinny and i don't feel like that suits her character. Keep up the good work.

This story and its reader held my interest. I liked the way each chapter ended with just a hint of what was to follow.

Absolutely loved this story and character. In addition it showed a character developing maturity and self sacrifice. Extremely well read. Kudos!
