THE STORY
Three weeks ago, the U.S. president was murdered by a four-year-old boy.
Today, seven men stare at each other in a locked conference room. Kidnapped and brought to this underground facility, the strangers are sitting in silence, thunderstruck. Despite minor physical differences, they all appear to be the same man, with the same name ... and the same childhood memories.
Unwitting participants in a secret human cloning experiment, these seven "John Michael Smiths" have been gathered by their creators for one reason -- to capture the mastermind behind the president's assassination.
Their target? The man they were cloned from; the original John Michael Smith, code-named John Alpha.
Soon our heroes -- John, Jack, Michael, Kilroy2.0 and the others -- realize the president's murder was merely a prologue to Alpha's plans. As the mystery deepens and the implications of Alpha's scheme are slowly revealed, the clones decide to stand against John Alpha. The outcome will unearth a conspiracy larger than they could have ever imagined.
Descent is the first novel in J.C. Hutchins' 7th Son thriller trilogy.

I had to write a review just because I only see reviews that like the book. In my opinion, this book sucks. 1) The book is really really slow. 2) After you've read the book description, you've pretty much read the whole book. 3) The characters are unlikeable. I listened ...

51/2 stars because as much as I love the brilliance of this story and the writer, I do find it sometimes difficult to listen. But even though the reader sometimes has the emphasis on the wrong syllable, stumbles or pauses too long, reads a little slowly etc.... overall it’s so well done I’m hesitant to even bring this slight annoyance up. Well done and I cannot wait to finish the trilogy!! Thank you JC!

I just finished listening to the trilogy. It took me a matter of days, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! As the majority of the story lasts only a couple days, after the first book, I had to immediately begin the next. At the end ...

I find this a really good book to listen to. The idea is very interesting and the writing is enthralling. The details in the story are well researched and executed, although for me, when a book is good reading, details are secondary. Characters are very believable and dialogues are entertaining ...

I was on the edge of my seat at the end of each episode. I am glad the books were complete by the time I found it here. Great job on a good story. I don't know for sure what a "MONDO MEGA CHECK" is but, it sounds pretty good.

I loved this trilogy. I loved it so much I scoured the web for everything J.C. Hutchins. I have found many of his podcasts and have bought his books. Now on the permanent shelf in the library, he has become one of my favorite and oft recommended authors.
ace man
the book is ok but the updates at the start of every chapter are so annoying that I very nearly delete it after about chapter 5 .but if you fast forward those it's worth a listen to the story. oh and skip the bonus chapters too
