The boy struggles to understand the meaning of that story as everything he has ever known is destroyed.

I typically enjoy Native American stories. The beginning of the book was quite interesting with several intertwined stories, but towards the end it seemed quite repetitive. Simply hunt and kill, hunt and kill people and horses.
