Lilian works in a typewriting office owned by Felix Grig, a middle-aged man of means. The office is run by his spinster sister, Miss Grig, who suspects that Felix is more interested in Lilian than perhaps he should be and gives Lilian the sack.
Her plan fails as Felix invites Lilian to dinner – and the book follows the course of their evolving relationship. (4 hr 54 min)

Sunday afternoon entertainment
Simon Evers could read the phonebook and make it compelling. Thank you, Mr Evers for your valuable contribution to the Librivox project. Lilian is a short novel good for a rainy afternoon. I enjoyed its simplicity. A gumdrop.

Are you talking about duplicate files somehow, or duplicate recorded passages in the reading itself? More detailed info needed, please. :)
A Nice Story

Once again the combination of Simon Evers and Arnold Bennett is unmatched in excellence. While this is a “nice” story, it goes deep into the growth of the principal characters. Some reviews have been unhappy with the ending, but we might consider that in certain novels, it is the realization of what was possible for the heroine, in this case, to face the world beyond the initial conflicts that defined her. I humbly believe that Bennett’s objectives were to quickly draw out the characters and then their belief systems, and that our own understanding and hopeful agreement with their subsequent actions, was the goal of the author.
Recording has duplicates . . .

Numerous duplicate recordings starting with Part 3, Chapter 9. Someone needs to fix this. Actually, I discovered it while listening from another room; I kept hearing the same thing. Thinking it wasn't advancing to the next link, I came out and checked and saw that it was on the next duplicate entry. Also, the picture of this woman is really disturbing!

The reader was excellent. The story was interesting, but I found it felt like it ended without concluding. So you are still expecting more , when there isn't more...

As usual Simon Evers does a terrific job. The story is interesting, but it really comes to a screeching halt kind of in mid story, which left me a little disappointed.

As usual, a marvelous analysis of common events by AB. It would have been nice to continue a bit longer. but the author ended where he thought best.
