Tales of Unrest is Joseph Conrad's first collection of short stories, published in 1898, showcasing his mastery of narrative and psychological depth. This collection invites listeners into a world where the complexities of human experience unfold against the backdrop of colonial settings and moral ambiguity.
Within these five stories, Conrad explores themes of isolation, conflict, and the struggle for understanding in a rapidly changing world. From the haunting memories of Karain to the stark realities faced in An Outpost of Progress, each tale offers a unique glimpse into the human condition, marked by Conrad's distinctive prose and keen observations.
As a pioneer of modern literature, Conrad's work in Tales of Unrest reflects his ability to blend rich storytelling with profound philosophical questions, making this collection a significant contribution to the literary canon. Started with The Idiot. Couldn’t hang. Reader was sincerely into it but...slow down. Reader was so fast I couldn’t adjust the speed to a normal pace without distortion. Try again without the coffee. Thanks
