This is series of stump speeches given before and after the 1901 assassination of McKinley. It's mostly an exposition on civic and national duty, and an hagiography of American expansion and exceptionalism, but also a warning that our democracy can only endure if we hold our politicians to the highest standards of honesty and morality.
issues with the recording

well-suited voice, beatuful to listen to. Damn good book too. i am facind crippling technical issues which severely affected my listening experience. I notice that every time i pause, the recording jumps a long time backward, causing me to re-listen to the same few pages again. there is a long period of empty recording at the tail end of chapters. Perhaps dynamic AD insertion messing up? my hardware keys for fast forward and rewind move me between chapters instead of moving 10 seconds back or 30 seconds forward. the overall listening experience is terrible. I recommend listening without pausing until these issues are fixed.

Probably one of the best books I’ve read. Completely contradicts the liberal propaganda that is too prevalent in today’s America.

TR was very well spoken and insightful. Many of his topics and powerful statements are as true now as they were when he first said them.
