Great Story & Good Readers

I really am enjoying Mary Elizabeth Braddon’s stories. There’s always an interesting twist and some mystery. I enjoy it more when the readers are good and they all did well with this one. I do have to say that IT’S PROSTRATE NOT PROSTATE!!! (and a few other....well, lots of other mispronunciations).

I enjoyed this typical Braddon novel. Set in London and the English countryside during the mid-1800's this story includes love, hate, greed, true friendship and other character traits of today. Very good narrations.

By modern standards, perhaps this is an overly long, meandering, story; and though I thought that of it, it was a decent, interesting tale that also gives insight into our antecedent culture.
Engaging story!

Fenton’s Quest is a good story with somewhat predictable outcomes. It is a fun read. One reviewer mentioned the frequently mispronounced words and it is astonishing especially for a professional. However, his voice is very very nice making it easier to overlook. I don’t know why folks don’t look up words with an unusual spelling such as “gaol” (jail).
