A Gripping Tale

(4.5 stars)

I was impressed by the relative fairness with which Bierce examines the Catholic Faith in the seventeenth century. The tale was excellently written and got a hold on my emotions that very few works can manage. I enjoyed this greatly. The narrator does an okay job, but his pacing might seem odd to some. If you are capable of adjusting to a narrator quickly, give this a try. If not, perhaps just read this on your own.

Mildly entertaining story

The readers voice was perfect fir the main character, though a bit diffucult to listen to.

This work was translated by Bierce. The original writer is evidently obscure.
