Reviews

a Hardy type book from start to end

(4 stars)

if you gave read this authors work you will have a general idea of the way the story will play. however that does not take away my enjoyment of his writing. This reader is one of the best easy to listen too. good cadence and uses the puntuation correctly :)

Hardy, Oh Hardy...

(5 stars)

Mr. Evers' reading was easy to listen to and Thomas Hardy's prose typically enjoyable. There are other protagonists of his who have drawn my sympathy and anger, whom I've liked and despised and laughed at, but Jocelyn Pierston and Avice... they, perhaps more than any. Be patient with them - it's good. The Island is a great character too. KJU

Wandering Spirit of True Love

(5 stars)

Or, as another reviewer says a wandering eye;). Impeccably read by Simon Evers the story is charming and enjoyable. It was my first Thomas Hardy book so I’m off to find more of the authors work.

(3.5 stars)

Beautifully read but no matter how I try I cannot appreciate Hardy any more than I did when forced to read Tess during my school years. My loss no doubt.

Interesting, excellent narration

(4 stars)

Maybe it should be called The Man With the Wandering Eye! But beautifully read, thank you.
