My favorite audiobook of this story

(5 stars)

I love this narration of a Christmas carol. Every December for the past 3 years, I have been listening to it. Glen does a perfect impersonation of the ghost of Christmas past and all the characters. He goes above and beyond all my expectations every time I listen to it! I'm humbled by this story every Christmas as I re-read one of my favorite childhood stories.

Great version

(5 stars)

I like this version a lot, it's not just read out but acted out. The reader has a good voice to listen to and a decent accent.

Wonderful Reading

I had seen the old movie so many times, but never read the book. It's so much deeper and I can see making time for another listen every December. Smokestack Jones does an excellent job reading this solo Librivox project.

This version is very well read. The reader makes the original understandable and enjoyable. It is also delightfully creepy as a good ghost story should be.

A must-listen for every holiday season

It’s been a long time since I have read this short story, and several years since I have watched any of the numerous movie versions, but I found myself tearing up just like the first time by the end of Stave 4 of this reading by Smokestack Jones... he is incredibly talented. His voice carries such a range of emotion, and I loved the colorful accents he performed. I will make this reading an annual tradition every Christmas!

best Christmas tale of all time

Great story! Merry Christmas! This helped strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ.

One of Dickens greatest stories.

Glen does a good narration as always. he is able to do different voices for different characters well. However the sound quality was very poor and ranged from too loud to almost inaudible. There was also much background noise as if someone were thumping on the mic. He is still one of the best narrators on LibriVox.
