Kweku Anansi is just another member of the African diaspora, trying to make a place for himself in his adopted home of Toronto, Canada. He dreams of better days, of a time when he could be stop running small time cons just to make the rent. He dreams of the life he used to live, centuries ago when he was revered as a god.

A chance encounter with a fellow con man with a dark and secretive past of his own, plunges them both into the dark world of the lost gods, gods who would do anything to be worshipped again. Including destroying the world, if necessary.

How far will Anansi go to reclaim his godhood? What will he give up to have true power again? The answers can be found in "Lost Gods", a new weekly podcast novel from author Drew Beatty.

Wow! Great!😊

I love this book! I didn't think another author would enter into my top five favorite books since most of my favorite books are by Scott Sigler. This book is my number two on the list now because I really count Scott Sigler's GFL series and novellas as one big book (so my list wouldn't be so long). I really enjoyed this book wished more was coming 😊

Read my review of Lost Gods here: http://podagogue.blogspot.com/2009/06/podcast-novel-review-lost-gods-by-drew.html "Lost Gods is equal parts dark supernatural thriller, grifter tale, and black comedy. The final chapters wind up towards some of the best twists I have come across in storytelling for a long time, particularly in podcast novels. For sheer "I-never-saw-that-coming" value, ...

Hi Drew, I loved Lost Gods from start to very creative and unexpected finish. You have quite a cast of unfamiliar characters, but they were all so well written that I had no trouble keeping them all sorted out. Good luck with publishing and thanks for presenting your work in ...

Lost Gods By Drew Beatty I had no idea what to expect when I started listening to Drew's book. I knew it was about ancient gods, and was very surprised with the imaginative way he saw this story. He incorporated ancient gods into the modern world with ease and believability. ...

I might be a tad on the late side, but... Even though I haven't listened to the book, the summary reminds me a lot of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods". Do the similarities end there or was it an active inspiration for the author? If it's an original story, I might ...

What a great book, but where's the sequel? It's been a couple years bud, get back on the horse! You've developed Ananse into a great character and your version of him should have more than one tale. Anyway, great job on both the writing and the acting-character voice work. I ...

Looks like I'm way late to the party, but I just gotta say. Great story. I listen to a ton of audiobooks working in a warehouse. I easily listen for at least 7 hours a day 5 days a week to give you an idea of how many audiobooks I ...

Great story! Was nice listening to everyday life from the point of view of old gods. Also nice that even though these were 'trickster' gods, they still had a conscience and didn't use their abilities to needlessly harm us poor humans. One question though: Where was Kokopelli?
