Big Jake Connors is taking over his town through violence, inimidation and bribery but Detective Sergeant Fitzgerald can only grind his teeth in frustration. The gangsters seem to have everything going their way until the day that a little dry cleaning establishment declines their offer of 'protection' and strange things start to happen. Murray Leinster gives us another wonderful product of 'what if' from his limitless imagination to enjoy in this gem of a story. Listen and smile. (Summary by Phil Chenevert) (0 hr 56 min)

Wah hoo!!!!

(5 Sterne)

This was just such a fun story. Imagine if you could get a 'good luck' machine that turned any attempt at evil around and reflected it back to the person trying to do the evil act... oh the possibilities! Reader does an excellent job. Thanks Phil! :-)

An odd but entertaining tale

(3 Sterne)

Not sure how to rate this one, it's a strange tale and good entertainment but not to Leinster's usual calibre.

Perfect combination, the best of “modern” writers paired with the subtlest of “tongue in cheek” practicioner of narrative art !

The worst story by far. Tedious, not amusing as intended. I kept waiting for the story to put some "meat on it's bones" but the ending arrived and left me dissapointed.

love it!

Great story! Well read! My only issue was the story would quit playing when my screen went dark. That hasn’t happened with other audio books.

The story was mediocre but as always Phil was the best. Five Stars to the late Great Narrator Phil.
