The Story of the Amulet (version 2)
E. Nesbit
Lu par Padraig O'hIceadha
The Story of the Amulet invites young readers on a magical journey filled with adventure and discovery. In this enchanting tale by E. Nesbit, the familiar group of children reunites with the Psammead, the sand-fairy from their previous escapades. However, this time, the Psammead's role has shifted; it can no longer grant wishes but serves as a guide as the children explore the mysteries of a powerful amulet.
Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century England, the story weaves together elements of fantasy and friendship. As the children navigate their new challenges, they learn valuable lessons about courage, imagination, and the importance of their bond. The amulet itself becomes a symbol of their adventures, leading them to unexpected places and experiences.
This novel is the concluding part of a beloved trilogy, following the adventures in Five Children and It and The Phoenix and the Carpet. E. Nesbit's storytelling combines whimsy with thoughtful insights, making it a delightful listen for children and adults alike.

It was imaginative, creative, and highly interesting. The reader's tactics were great, but I would say that at some times pronunciation of the English words was a bit un-Englishy. - Lizzie, age 8
